July is National Blueberry Month! Did you celebrate?
I love blueberries and wanted to share some delicious blueberry things!
First, your one stop for all your blueberry needs is The Blueberry Store. It has everything from candles to fresh blueberries! ]
The preserves is just perfect for waffles, toast or my favorite- english muffins! I also used the blueberry BBQ sauce for pork chops on the grill. Yes, I said Blueberry BBQ sauce! I have to be honest with you.. I was not sure at first, but they turned out absolutely amazing and you can see the FRESH, delicious blueberries in the sauce!
Chocolate covered blueberries are also some of my absolute favorites!
I also made a delicious fresh blueberry smoothie last week which was to die for!
It was super simple. All you need is the following:
1 cup of fat free yogurt
2/3 cups of frozen blueberries
a spoonful of honey
& I blended.. Honestly it was SUPER simple and delicious! I highly recommend that you try it.
In just one serving, you can get 14 mg of Vitamin C – almost 25 percent of your daily requirement. Vitamin C aids the formation of collagen and helps maintain healthy gums and capillaries. It also promotes iron absorption and a healthy immune system1,2. (Information according to the US Blueberry Council).
Research has shown that most of us don’t get enough fiber in our diets. Eating foods high in fiber will help keep you regular, your heart healthy and your cholesterol in check. A handful of blueberries can help you meet your daily fiber requirement1,2. What a tasty way to eliminate this worry from your day! (Information according to the US Blueberry Council)
