Yes! You can be a NEW person tomorrow. The New Year is right around the corner. It’s a great opportunity for everyone. A great time to reinvent yourself. A time to grow as a person. It’s the time of the year where you can start fresh and new again. It’s the time of the year where you can learn from your mistakes and start a brand new slate.
Want to be a healthier person? Want to get a new job? Want to start a business? Get out of a destructive relationship? Make a positive change? What better time than 2018! I am a very goal orientated person and I love checklists! It’s a written reminder to achieve your goals. Make a list of the pro’s and con’s of 2017.
For example, here are a few of mine: Help two non-profits through my new business adventure, focus on me, make better food decisions, make a strong financial plan and a few others. How can you improve in 2018?
For me, I had sold my home & lost a great deal of money on the sale of this home. As much as it burned, I am here to pick myself up in 2018 & ready to get back on the ride. Something will always knock you down in life, but getting back up truly does make you a stronger person. The worst thing you can do is not try.
Be Better than you we’re yesterday
Set your goals for 2018. For example, I want to be a healthier person in 2018. In the past I was nervous to share some of my personal obstacles, but I hope that this helps someone else. I have several medical issues, including diabetes, Endometriosis & PCOS. They greatly affect my life on a weekly and daily basis, but the truth is I can try even harder. I know how hard it is some days. Some days you want to just give up, but you can’t. You have to push forward and move forward. You can’t ever give up. Food can greatly affect all three of the disorders above. I can eat a little better than I do. Eating Healthier affects your entire life and especially your future. Eating healthier can affect your mood and how you actually look as well.
Drinking water every day is something I have actually struggled with. I am not a fan of water, but have been drinking more and more over the years. It has made a big difference. There was a period of about 15 months that I had a kidney infection almost every month. Once I started drinking water daily among other things, it stopped. Drinking water improves your skin, gives you more energy & even helps with your digestive problems.
Surround yourself with positive and motivating things. Do you have a goal to find a new career in 2018? What are you going to do to find that dream job? It’s not going to fall right in your lap. Set goals! Work hard for them. For example, make a list for the month. Jobs offerings change every day. Make time every week to set some time aside to submit your resume! Set sometime aside to send follow up emails and even personalized cards/notes to follow up.
Little goals matter too. What if you just want to get more organized for 2018? That’s a great goal that can affect you daily. Do you need to organize your desk, closet or kitchen? That’s great. Start with one room and finish organizing before moving onto the next. Get rid of things you haven’t used in awhile. Consider donating them to a family or friend in need of the item/items.
Want to get out of a destructive relationship, but afraid to be alone? You need to empower yourself! Keeping busy always helps you keep your mind off of things that tend to be bothering you. Sign up for weekly yoga classes or enroll in cooking classes. That way you have something to look forward to every week and get your mind off of everything. I do not recommend going out and dating someone new right away. You need to strengthen you first and be happy with who you are!
Want to go to college, but feel like you can’t do it with three kids and a full time job? The answer is you can!! Take baby steps. Sign up for one class this coming Summer or Fall 2018. You can do it!
Want to buy a new car or other large purchase, but don’t have the money? Save. It all has to start somewhere. You have to stop talking about it and take action. Save daily. Save all your change in a jar. Grab that second job. You can do it. It may seem so far away, but you can do it. It’s all about setting small goals for your major goal.
That goes to weight as well. Are you trying to loose weight? Set small goals to achieve your large goal.
Whatever your goals may be. Big or small. The truth is that you can achieve them all. You just truly have to set your mind to them and work hard (sometimes VERY hard) to achieve all of them! My recommendation is to set mini goals to achieve your big goal
A Fresh Start
For 2018, do you want to have your own business? Fantastic! Do you have a plan? Write it all down!! How are you going to achieve all of your goals? Make small steps. No one becomes a successful business owner overnight. Work hard to achieve your little goals to achieve all of your big ones!
In 2018 do you want to save money for a vacation or a new home? Set little goals for yourself. Save $20-$100 a week. Don’t buy your $4 coffee for a few months and you will realize how much you can actually save. It’s the little things and the small steps that truly help you achieve your goals!
I wish everyone a very successful 2018. If you have goals or things you truly want to overcome, conquer and achieve, the truth is you can do it! Make the small steps in to an amazing, wonderful NEW YOU!
