Gina Lolita Bangser is a food fashionista & blogger! I had the pleasure of meeting Gina at the Chicago She Writes event where we we’re both honored as writers/bloggers. We took a few minutes to learn a little more about Gina! Learn about Ricotta Stuffed Gnocchi & the new mommy to be!
1. What is your all time favorite holiday food to cook?
So hard to choose just 1 dish! For me there are 3 things I always look forward making (and eating) during the Holidays, as does my family. In fact, I tend to have to make a little more each year so they can all have leftovers to bring home. My Burgundy Braised Short Ribs, my Italian Grandmother’s Ricotta Stuffed Gnocchi and most importantly, some amazing Coconut Cream Pies!
2. What is your one fashion item that you can NOT live without?
Fashion must haves for me is all about great under garments. I think a nice bra and a slimming tank (not spanx, to uncomfortable for me) keep my curves looking smooth, and if my curves look good, I feel good, and that is the key to any outfit being phenomenal.
3. With Christmas around the corner, is there anything in particular on your wish list (If she can answer before Christmas)?
I won the Naturesweet Tomato Chef Challenge this summer with my Roasted Vegetable & Quinia Salad, and can hardly wait to use my recent prize winnings to get myself a Vitamix Blender! Since I’m pregnant and having a baby in May, I’m already getting pumped about testing out baby food recipes!
4. What is your favorite Christmas cookie?
I love making Christmas Cookies every year, but to be honest, I hardly ever eat them! I’m more of a pie girl, but if I had to choose I’d pick good old fashioned Chocolate Chip.
5. What was your favorite movie of all time?
Favorite movie would have to be Little Women from 1949, the version with Elizabeth Taylor and June Allyson. I’m a huge Jane Austen fan and that movie always makes me feel nostalgic about my childhood.
6. What can we plan to see from the you in 2014?
In 2014 I will be doing more Chef demos throughout the city, but since I’m having a baby and will have the whole summer off…my true hope is to work on a cook book with my brother Bubba Frank. He’s an amazing Chef in Texas and we have 2 great ideas we want to see come to life and share with the world.
